Tulips in Amsterdam
Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Heineken and canalboat living, all in 4 days. Brill.
When in the Heineken factory, do as they do...
just don't go biking over the famous Magere Brug ("narrow bridge") too soon afterwards.
Our botel, the Zebra, made up for in location what it lacked in cabin space and breathable air, though the early morning view from the porthole was good.
In the Portuguese synagogue.
As close as we got to the redlight district, and to smoker's alley.
An artist mixes exactly the type of paint Rembrandt used, in Rembrandt's studio in the house where he lived before he went bust.
I can't seem to get these captions to sit with the pix, so, join the dots:
Variously, the oldest potplant in the world (300 years old), yes really.
Do not attempt to swing a cat in here.
Our canal tour boat gets left standing by an amster stag do.
Tulip market and the inside of THE coolest library in the world.
The queue outside Anne Frank's house (not covered by our 48 euro each Amsterdam cards so we didn't go in - did the Joods Historiche museum instead).
5 euro for 4 hours on a bike - a great way to end the trip cycling through Vondelpark before training back to Eindhoven for the cheap, nasty but easy Ryanair flight home.

Love the pics and the commentary - have a great time in Berlin.
ReplyDelete(PS. Lucia wrote above comment trying to pretend it was me and is mortified that I sent it!)
Hi guys,
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time. We enjoyed Amsterdam as well and even spent time in Eindhoven as that was the nearest big town to where my sister was living. Have fun in Berlin.
